GLMS has been given permission to conduct business in Ontario and holds an AGCO license.

After obtaining a license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS), which is an international state lottery organization, has been given the green light to commence its activities in the province of Ontario.

After this is complete, the GLMS will immediately begin assisting the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, which is its local partner in the province, in enhancing the honesty of the lotteries that it operates. The principal goals of the organization are to raise awareness of the problem of corruption in sports and to provide assistance to various stakeholders in their efforts to respond to suspicious behavior.

The Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS) has decided to take a multi-pronged strategy, in which it aims to incorporate current cross-border agencies who are aiming to crack down on sports betting fraud that harms the integrity of the event as well as the experience for spectators.

On April 4, the gaming market in Ontario was opened up formally to private businesses, and the President of GLMS, Ludovico Calvi, expressed his thanks for the chance to participate in the market.

Calvi stressed that his company has always been a passionate supporter of regulated and fair sports competitions, as well as a proponent of clean betting methods all over the world. In addition, he stated that his company is a proponent of clean betting practices in the United States. The president acknowledged that the growth of the black market has been a challenge, but he also outlined a plan of action that calls on stakeholders in the industry to work together in an effort to combat gambling fraud once and for all.

In order to do this, the GLMS and the AGCO worked together to design criteria that would not only enable the regulator to assure the fairness of sports in Ontario, but will also serve as the platform for future launches in other jurisdictions. These criteria were developed through a collaborative effort between the two organizations.

The formation of a partnership with the Global Lottery Management System (GLMS) is the most recent move in the direction of bolstering the private sector in Ontario’s gaming business, which was historically dominated by the state lottery until relatively recently. After the regulated market was established, some of the most well-known companies in the sports betting industry, including as DraftKings, theScore, FanDuel, and BetMGM, entered the field and began competing with one another.
